The Words You Wrote | ing

The first time she heard their voices, River Morales was thirteen, wearing braces and fully convinced that some songs could read a person better than people ever could. They were the boys on the posters above her bed. The voices in her headphones during the worst nights. The lyrics she'd ended up tattooing on her skin. And then, somehow, one day they became the boys sitting beside her around a campfire in the Blue Mountains.

She wants to write words that last forever. They're the kind of people the entire world listens to. And some collisions make more noise than a sold-out concert.

(For the purposes of this story, Australia follows the same seasons as the Northern Hemisphere. English isn't my first language, so please bear with me if some wording sounds a little off.)
