In the radiant kingdom of Elarion, perpetual golden light and endless festivals mask a society that has collectively banished sadness. Citizens smile until their jaws ache, polish tombstones to mirror brightness, and swallow honey to suppress grief. Auren, a young man raised in this culture of forced joy, begins to fracture beneath the weight of unspoken sorrow-losing time, dissociating from his own reflection, and haunted by dreams of a lonely child imprisoned beneath the silent Black Tower, the kingdom's only forbidden place. As Auren notices hairline cracks in the rehearsed happiness around him-trembling smiles, unfocused eyes, the sound of weeping seeping through apartment walls in a kingdom that has no apartments-he realizes Elarion itself may be a fragile fabrication. The story weaves psychological horror through a fantasy lens, exploring how a society's refusal to acknowledge pain can transform it into something far more monstrous than the darkness it fears.
