Hello and welcome to my little corner of the world. I've decided that I'd like to take the time to build myself a live journal, for all to read. At 34 years of age, I was officially diagnosed (last week) as being on the Autism Spectrum. With this diagnosis came a profound sense of relief, and it's empowered me to take the necessary steps to begin the process of unmasking. For 34 years, though it was obvious that something was different about me, I went ignored and abused. Due to my difference, I grew up with various disabilities that I had to learn how to navigate alone. No one really believed in autism where I came from, so I just got labeled weird instead.
In this journal, I hope I am able to help folks who are NOT on the spectrum to understand what it is like to be a part of it. It is my hope that you enjoy what you see, and perhaps even get a few good things out of it. So. Join me as I unmask and stop being so damn palatable for those around me.
