During a dangerous case with Sam and Dean something goes wrong and Castiel goes missing, this isn't like the other times Cas has disappeared, this is different, it's strange even for Cas. With Castiel gone Dean doesn't eat or sleep he just drinks and prays wondering if Cas can hear him. Day and night he checks the newspapers and police reports from every city, and county in the US for any sign of the trench coat angel. With no leads things become even more bleaker. Dean throws himself down a hole, and Sam is becoming increasingly worried about about Dean so he seeks out help from from another angel to see if they know anything about the whereabouts of Castiel. Castiel is lost he doesn't know where he is or who he is. He just goes where his feet take him. He never eats or sleeps but he doesn't he have to, he doesn't know why he doesn't eat and it doesn't bother him much cause it would just slow him down. He remembers nothing about Sam or Dean or even himself for that matter, but something is itching at the wall in the back of his head trying to break through, it wants to get out but can't. He gets fragments of things every so often but they are of pain and torture and a redhead he doesn't know the name of. One day a pleasant memory comes through the cracks in his wall he can't place where it came from. The only thing he knows is he needs to find the man with the stunning green eyes. After a bad breakup, Dean gets into a fight with his best friend that pushes him over the edge. It ends with him finally seeking help, but not from the people that love him most. That leaves a rift between him and the people in his life that only want the best for him. A year later, after getting the help he needs, he gets invited on a vacation with his brother and some friends. It's a chance to get away and relax, and maybe try to reconnect with his friends. The last thing he expected to find was someone else that he connects to. Someone with dark, messy hair and bright blue eyes. This vacation turns out to be better than he had ever expected.

[COMPLETED] "Every morning. Every single morning for as long as Castiel could remember. The man in the apartment building across from Cas' -and the same floor (as their kitchens both faced the same way), with the dirty blonde hair and the deep green eyes, would always wake up at six in the morning and brew himself a cup of coffee with those weird and colorful cups he would always collect. He was always too tired to look up from that darn coffee machine to notice Cas, but Castiel sure as hell noticed him. With that bed hair that would decorate the top of his head every morning and Cas would pray for the attractive man to look up and notice him. Cas tried, and oh did he try, to stop staring at the green-eyed man, but after a while, it kind of became a reflex; to wake up, go to the kitchen, brew himself a cup of coffee and then just look up to see the man across the street from him doing exactly the same -except for looking up at Cas. Until one day, he did."

"Cas, it's not going to break." Dean, just to prove it, stomps once, twice, three times against the ice. He even slams both feet down against it just for good measure, laughing when his foot slips and he crashes to the ice. "Dean!" Cas yelps, tears welling in his eyes and hands reaching for Dean. "Cas, I'm fine," Dean assures, moving to stand, eyes locked on Cas. Then the ice breaks, and Dean falls through. The last thing he sees is Cas' horrified face, helpless to stop him from falling before the cold hits him, stabbing the air from his lungs with fingers like knives and stealing every thought in his brain. He was pulled from the water that day, but later, he would remember the exhilaration of the ride and the joy of the laughter and the fear of the fall and the cold of the water, and he would think that that's what loving Cas has always felt like. A constant back and forth of laughter and cold, of warmth and sickness, of love and hate. Loving Cas has never been easy, but falling for him has always been the easiest thing in the world.
