When Trust Breaks

When Stoick banished the dragons from Berk, he told himself he was protecting his people. But in that great hall, with the whole village watching, he made a choice that broke something between him and his son - he believed Mildew over Hiccup.

The dragons are back now. Toothless has returned, the Outcasts have been driven off, and Hiccup is a hero once again. By all rights, things should be mended.

They aren't.

Because Hiccup isn't angry - he's something worse. He's quiet. He takes his father's food like a stranger and flies away each morning to a sky where no one can reach him. And Stoick, who has stared down armies and dragons alike, has no idea how to reach the one person who matters most.

As Stoick fights to win back his son's trust - confronting the ghost of the wife whose faith he once dismissed, and the same fear that nearly cost him everything - Mildew is already at work, planting old fears in fresh soil. To heal what's broken, a father and son will have to stand together one more time, in the same square where it all fell apart.

Hurt heals slow. But not every door that clos stays locked.
