Going to a new planet could be scary. Excited. Thrilling. Terrifying.

It was a fresh start, where no one knew your name until you told them. Where there was a purpose. A motivation. A reason.

That was the reason Y/N and Jim Preston were on this ship. The Homestead 2. 120 years of hyper-sleep, where they would awake in a completely new place.

Jim was a mechanic. Y/N was an educator. They were essential. Needed. The builders of a new society. Valued.

So they bought the discounted tickets. They had no other family other than each other. The brother sister duo were going to stick together, even through space. They always had, throughout their entire life.

Maybe that was why fate had been cruel, and woken them both up.
