Although the Americans report Fusō's two-piece hull disappearing beneath the waves of the Surigao Strait in a massive fireball, her crew saw different.
The 1,620 surviving sailors soon found themselves stranded in the middle of a desert, surrounded by endless yellow dunes stretching to the horizon. Vice Admiral Nishimura leads an effort to uncover their whereabouts, but it quickly becomes clear that the Fusō is not alone.
