The Book of Kost

The Book of Kost is a dark, psychological horror epic told in rhyming verse. Set against the backdrop of a fracturing world in the year 2026, the story follows Evgeny "Zhenya" Kost, a former elite Russian chef trapped in the freezing isolation of the Swiss Alps.

A mysterious cosmic entity has infected the minds of the global elite through a maddening, sub-audible frequency known only as The Humming. This frequency has stripped humanity of its basic nature; normal food has turned to ash, and the infected rulers of the world-organized under the shadow of the Ouroboros Syndicate-now crave only the vital iron spark found within human flesh.

Valued for his absolute, surgical precision with a blade, Evgeny is forced to serve as the Syndicate's master butcher. He is a man who speaks in low monosyllables, his hands smelling permanently of raw iron and bleach, moving through a high-end slaughterhouse disguised as a Michelin-starred kitchen.

But Evgeny is no submissive servant. Behind his dull, gray butcher's gaze lies the freezing, stubborn survival instinct born of his ancestral Siberian roots. When the cosmic entity digs into his past to manipulate him, Evgeny begins a quiet, cold, and calculated revolt-armed only with his knives, his spite, and a refusal to let humanity be hollowed out without a fight.
