He'd thought he'd lost it all the night his mom died, and his father packed the family up and moved them to New Jersey. But it took two boys, the fresh wound that was grief, and leaving what he'd thought would be a new start, to realise that losing everything had only started with his mom.

When Michael Hargrove met Evon and Jude, he'd thought that everything would be okay. For the years following, everything truly had been just that.

But there comes a day when it's time to move on, and despite it not being Michael's decision, but his Father's, he has no choice but to leave New Jersey and return to his life in New York.

Reassured by his friends that they'd keep in contact until they saw eachother again, Michael tried to get over it and simply do what needed to be done, then, when he graduated, he'd move back and finally regain what he lost.

But Evon and Jude cut all contact with him and after two years of grieving their presence, Michael has grown into someone he didn't recognize.

But it's senior year, he's preparing for his next steps. One's that don't include Evon and Jude, only on the first day back to school, he realises just how wrong he was.

Because they're here, and not just for what New York has to offer. No, they're here for him.
