Lost Power Within

"Am I the only one that saw him shift into a potted plant?" Debra's head jerked in disbelief, blinking a couple times to see if her boyfriend of 3 years was still a plant. Vera rolled her eyes and turned her attention to the wolf pack that stood in front of them. "Bradon shift back before Sean has a minor heart attack, he shape shifts when he's scared" the wolf gazed at the blue eyed witch, mentally voicing his amusement.

Annoyed with this, Vera let her power surge through her hand. Just as electric currents appeared around her fingertips, the sky cracked with thunder and lightning. Vera sent the alpha a dangerous smile, power swirled in those icy pools.

On a different day Bradon would have found that attractive, but this wasn't exactly a social call. With a command through the mind link, the pack began to shift. Bones cracked and within seconds the wolves were gone, five men with bare muscles stood proud. Debra gasped and immediately covered her eyes.

Vera shifted her eyes to the shapeshifter, unfazed and unimpressed as the she drew her power back in. "It's okay Sean, you can come out now" the shapeshifter reluctantly shifted to human form again, quickly apologizing to Debra, who wore a dorky expression of pure sympathy and admiration. "Sean calm down, it's okay" the shapeshifter sighed in relief, embracing her affectionately.
