Beneath the Fire

Racing back to the village I found myself out of breath, I looked over my shoulder and saw my sister breathing just as hard as me. I whip the sweat from my brow and see the black towers of smoke fill the sky. The smell of burnt flesh fills my nose, and I fight the ugh to throw up. I take my sister's hand tightly into my own and we walk home. Our home has some burnt scares on it but still intact. I heard voices inside and our grandmother steps out with her medical bag in hand. I held my sister's hand tighter and cried looking at her a lot.
