Drazeil tilted his head.
"What do I want?" he repeated softly. "To kill you. Torture you. Burn you alive."

A cold grin spread across his face.

"But I can't. And that's the most infuriating part."

He leaned closer, his hand settling around her throat-not choking, just claiming.

Lilith let out a short, disbelieving laugh.

"Funny. Because there's nothing I'd love more than to drive a stake through your heart."

Drazeil smirked.

"You're welcome to try."

Before she could react, he clasped a cold pendant around her neck-a crimson moonstone, a dragon bound in chains.

"Consider that your leash, little witch."

Lilith touched the pendant, then met his gaze with a cold smile.

"Seems I'm not the only one in chains."

For a brief second, his smirk faltered.

Then he smiled.
