A knight falls under a dangerous task that leads him to uncovering a whole new 'world' 'just around the corner'; forcing him on an adventure to not only find his love, but his courage to move on to help those he has found along the way.

Ferrin Anton, from Ferihale, falls unconscious during battle. But when he wakes up he realizes he's alone now.
With the recent loss of his wife in the Lonely Woods, he doubts she is actually gone and leaves his putrid life of a knight and goes into certain death to save her, leaving his children behind.

Things don't go well for him and he's on his last threads. Then from a glow a man in a leathery and clothy crow suit(along with a nice big flat hat) helps him out. After they go through the Bromiel Plains and through a forest to a city named Derraith, complications brew in a pot that dwells in a deeper darker place, ready for any lonesome weak knight to consume...

How will Ferrin pair to his burdens.. and return back home...

Hammond: Book One by aracarey03
36 parts Complete
When the cast and crew arrive in Hammond to film a documentary about life in the medieval stronghold, Ain is seeking something very different than are the hundreds of others who arrive beside him. Desperately he is searching for a solace from the hurt his life has dealt him, and he looks toward the months ahead in his role as Hammond's First Knight as a respite - a turning point - from his long despair. But when the power flickers and goes out, everything is turned upside down. All modern machinery suddenly becomes useless, and every form of communication with the outside world is severed. Hammond is cut off and left to wonder what has caused these things to happen. All seem to look to Ain for answers, and a series of visions and signs suggests he has been set apart to serve a noble purpose in this strangely altered world. This purpose, however, he wishes to deny, for he deems himself unworthy to pursue it. Yet there is one who sees him and his purpose truly, even in the spite of his denial. Mallory guesses his secrets and, against his every resistance, has soundly claimed his heart. Even so, Ain is convinced he must not let her have it, for he believes that giving her his love will bring about her doom. Then a chance meeting with a stranger in the fields turns deadly, and everyone is panicked, fearing all the world has been upended; then in the midst of all their fears, Mallory suddenly falls ill. Even while Mallory's fate is yet uncertain, Ain is pressed to journey out beyond their borders in hopes of finding help and comfort and good news to soothe the hearts at Hammond. A small company he takes with him, but the more they see and learn, the more their hopes subside. Misery and need, neglect and great misfortune meet them everywhere they go, and Hammond's travelers feel helpless as they face it. And when they begin to be pursued, Ain's last remaining hope is just to get them back to Hammond's gates alive...
Trials of Gideon Book 1: The Cursed Blade by kullman
17 parts Complete
Gideon Saint is usually in trouble. It's his pastime to get involved in epic quests throughout history, namely the Middle Ages. Once again, he's run afoul of the Templars, and ancient organization of Wizards. This time, they are offering him the chance to right old wrongs, by retrieving a mysterious cursed blade. 1403 awaits. Sequel Series to Last Knights of Cambia series, and the Days of the Dead trilogy, ergo it contains spoilers for those. Similar narrative style and tone, that is if you want English history explained like Lemony Snicket, then this is for you. Ahem. Living people die, dead people live. Swords. Epic Battles. Mysterious riddles. Coded messages. True love. Traitors. Murder. Found families. Yes, Henry V is here and he is awesome. Did we mention swords? Tombs are described in loving detail. People are not. Yes you may learn something about the battle of Shrewsberry but that's a risk you're going to have to take. Content/Trigger Warning: A battle is depicted at length, relatively graphic blood/gore associated with that. A character is injured severely and must twice undergo surgery on page, this is fairly graphic and may be disturbing to some readers. Brief innuendo. Some brief strong language. Some mild sexuality. Catholicism is discussed. All disturbing scenes are usually forewarned, that is it's clear what is going to happen. Some brief peril. Some light disturbing humor relating to murder. PG-13 quality stuff, be aware of your mental state and seek support as needed.

As long as people believed that there was a division between the Gifted and the non-Gifted, that one was superior to the other, I wasn't done. As long as there were kings on thrones to reinforce the idea that people like Porter and Briar and everyone else I cared about were unworthy of this world, I wasn't done. "And then," I continued, a resolution forming in my mind. "I'm going to destroy those six thrones." ********************************************** Wren Heatherfield has been through hell and back, surviving the deadly trials of the Garner and claiming the title of Garner Champion. However, her fight is far from over, with the real challenges only just beginning. Adjusting to her new life in the Ember Court with her insufferable enemy-turned-friend Kesserian Cinis, Wren is forced to face the truth of how close the six courts of Naturian are to a civil war, with Nox and Wren leading the opposing sides. But the fight for allies she can trust might turn out to be just as hard as her internal fight: coming to terms with her true identity. With the loyalties and beliefs of her past and present self at war with each other, Wren must decide who she is and what she stands for if she has any hope of surviving this upcoming war. Plagued by nightmares and trauma from her time in the Garner, Wren must find a way to keep moving forward. With the weight of a crumbling nation on her shoulders, Wren has one chance to fix the injustices that plague Naturian and achieve her dreams of toppling tyranny, but the alluring power of the throne might prove too intoxicating for even her to resist. A fight for her loved ones. A fight for the oppressed. A fight to save the remaining good in Naturian. The chains have been released. Now the real fight begins.

20 parts Complete Mature

"Imagine, if you will, a creature who's never felt fear before and you were given the task to inform it of the concept. How would you go about doing it? Would you try to describe it, the concept of terror, or absolute horror? Would you give it an example? Or would you show it what to fear and describe how one might react? Remember, one man's nightmare is another man's dream. How then would you show, teach, or give someone a taste of what fear is, when fear and lust are twins from the same worldly womb?" Fear clutches its claws around us differently. Some representations may have spindly legs prickling our skin. Others will have huge monstrous frames giving you the sense of helplessness and futility standing in its shadow. Others are more formless and unknown, sowing doubt and untruths like a farmer harvesting lies. Erik, sadly, finds himself in a position where he can only wish for such a feeling. Be it fear, love, joy or anger. And where Erik searches for something he has lost, Sarah searches for something she has always had, but is somehow difficult to reach. And as Sarah tries to leave her fears behind her a little four-legged creature is introduced to the concept of fear for the very first time.
