In a world after a devastating depression, the countries find themselves turning to an old friend for help; Gilbert, the fallen country of Prussia. After taking control of Germany in an attempt to help his younger brother, Ludwig, Gilbert finds himself holding the puppet strings that control the world. As he gets stronger, more and more countries decide to join him, making Germany's power stronger and stronger by the day. The only country to openly oppose him is the tiny nation of New America, Maribelle. In a chance encounter with Gilbert, Maribelle finds herself sacrificing her life to declare war on Prussia.
It's Maribelle versus the world, in this unbelievable, but very American, attempt at freedom. Will odds be in her favor or will she end up as a New Prussian colony?

[OLD] Escaping the Friendzone (Various! Hetalia x Reader) by sleepinwitherensmom
25 parts Complete Mature
(School AU) (Y/n) (L/n) is a very smart young lady. She always gets good marks on her quizzes and tests. She's nice to everyone and tries to stay positive around her peers/friends/family. However, behind closed doors she tends to break down. She has an older sister with mental health issues and an older brother whom she used to confide in but he moved away and barely visited and talked to his family. This only made the girl's life worse. Her childhood friend and neighbor, Gilbert stopped talking to her as much when he started middle school, but she still hung out with Ludwig. Her mother was always stressed between being a single mom and dealing with her sister. So the girl used her studies and books as an escape method from the real world. Of course she had some friends, but not many really GOOD friends. NOTE: The reader has Situational Depression DISCLAIMER: I do not own Hetalia, the characters, art, or the au. I only own the plot and whatnot. And another issue is that there are a LOT of countries so I can't really do all of them, so the only characters falling for you will be: Francis Bonnefoy (France) Alfred F. Jones (America) Matthew Williams (Canada) Arthur Kirkland (England) Ludwig Beilschmidt (Germany) Gilbert Belischmidt (Prussia) Feliciano Vargas (Italy) Lovino Vargas (Romano) Antonio Fernandez Carriedo (Spain) Ivan Braginski (Russia) I suck at writing a fanfic with more than 10 characters involved unless I REALLY know ALL of the characters. Also I'm sorry I took out Japan and China. Before I started editing they got like zero attention and I felt bad Q_Q I hope you enjoy the story nonetheless and I thank you for taking your time reading this stupidly long description EDIT: If you want to see more interactions with a certain character (doesn't have to be ones you fall for) just let me know!
A Pocket Full of Stones (Countryhumans) by Mapekalilio

Cover art is by me! Do not steal! A realm where countryhumans exist, rivals, coalitions, and relationships toss this story of them through tons of unexpected ups and downs. But for now, you'll be following the story of everyone's favorite North American, Canada. After his father made some horrible mistakes while he was a child it puts a wedge in the family that only those two know about. But as he grows older the effects of The Asylum (a place of suffering for Countryhumans after death) take a toll on how he treats others. And after countries get revived from the Asylum by a mysterious cure the majority of the time they gain a physical feature such as wings, or maybe another animal characteristic. On rare cases, there can be magical abilities gained that outweigh any sort of supernatural physicality. But Canada wasn't too lucky, and just got a pair of large wings. To hide the past from other countries, Britain does everything he can to keep the knowledge of them away from everyone, even if it causes loads of pain on his son's body. In this story each countryhuman has a stone with their flag on it. It's one of the most precious things to them because of their stone get damaged or put in the wrong hands bad things can happen. If another country gets a hold of it, the countryhuman that the stone originally belonged to gets chainlocked. Meaning that the country who got their stone has complete control of them, and to show it physically a thick metal bracelet is placed around one of their wrists. ⚠️Also no warnings on ships, so be prepared for anything. But I am telling you that if you are not comfortable with anything but the regular ships this book is not for you best rankings: Canada: #2, 7/3/25 Sweden:#1, 11/10/25 Finland: #1, 11/11/25
