In a world after a devastating depression, the countries find themselves turning to an old friend for help; Gilbert, the fallen country of Prussia. After taking control of Germany in an attempt to help his younger brother, Ludwig, Gilbert finds himself holding the puppet strings that control the world. As he gets stronger, more and more countries decide to join him, making Germany's power stronger and stronger by the day. The only country to openly oppose him is the tiny nation of New America, Maribelle. In a chance encounter with Gilbert, Maribelle finds herself sacrificing her life to declare war on Prussia.
It's Maribelle versus the world, in this unbelievable, but very American, attempt at freedom. Will odds be in her favor or will she end up as a New Prussian colony?

Is the clown the fool of the story, or are you? After all, the clown knows it's an act, but the audience is so lost in it that they tend to forget. Alfred had lived a long life. He'd learned a lot in it. That England was easy to gaslight if you knew what you were doing. France would back away from any show of force. Germany could ignore a bumbling idiot even as the evidence piled up just because he wasn't very good with people. Poland saw everything and read people like a book. Prussia would keep his mouth shut if you gave him enough liquor or made him obedient. Russia would turn a blind eye if you turned one to him. China never trusted anyone even if there was evidence of the contrary. His mother's revenge would play out, and it would make him the happiest man in the world. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hetalia:Axis Powers. No ships in this book! If there is it's in the past! Mostly sibling bonding. America can shapeshift and is non-binary (he/him female titles).
