From the Shadows we Rise

After years of Violent and daring adventure, countless battle and wars waged, and journeys into the darkest of worlds, Alvarinus has returned to Baldurs Gate, the weight and Echos of the past having crushed out the once gleaming Paladin of Lathander. Having witnessed the best and worst of the Material plane, the worst of Humanity and the Darkness within, Alvarinus has been left a Former shell off the knight in shining armor that he once was.

But not even surviving the mists of the Shadowfell are enough to stave off the chaos of Faerûn, because when a Mindflayer ship breaks through the sky and into the City, Alvarinus is abducted in the chaos and imbued with one of the worst scourges in all of existence: A Mindflayer Parasite.

Now, the High Elf Paladin of Vengeance must ally himself with several reminders of a dark past, and forge new bonds that may aid the survival of himself and several others.

He survived the wrath of the Dragon Scourge, he led armies against the rise of Giants. And yet Alvarinus has unfinished Business in the city of Baldurs Gate, and the looming confrontation may be what does him in.
