In the dystopian future, the norm has become genetically mutating children before birth so that the child will look, act, and think as the system so choses. However, the catch is that they have no free will and are unable to feel emotion. But there's drugs on the black market created by "Gateway Children" who escape the mutation before birth that offer an alternative; a simulation of emotions. A team made in secret from the system, originally created by the original Gateway Children, choose their battles to ensure their survival and sneak a certain type of drug into the simulations that is a direct simulation of free will that can go undetected. People who get hold of this drug are left with the free will to join the Gateway Children and try to take down the system or be forever obedient.
