Olive Wells had one goal for the summer before senior year at Briar University: finally stop overthinking her life and start living it.

At the top of her bucket list? Have sex.

Simple enough. Or at least, it was supposed to be.

But while filming a mini documentary on Briar's beloved hockey team, Olive finds herself pulled into the orbit of Dean Heyward-Di Laurentis, the team's golden boy, campus legend, and walking bad decision in designer clothes. He's cocky, charming, impossible to ignore, and very aware of the effect he has on every girl who looks his way.

Dean doesn't do serious. Not after his clingy high school girlfriend made him swear off anything that came with expectations, feelings, or the terrifying phrase "where is this going?" Olive is supposed to be casual. Fun. Temporary.

Except Olive Wells is nothing like he expected.

She challenges him. Distracts him. Gets under his skin without even trying. And the more time they spend together, the harder it becomes for Dean to pretend she's just another summer fling.

Olive only wanted to cross one thing off her list.

Dean only wanted to keep things easy.

But somewhere between stolen glances, late-night filming sessions, and lines they keep pretending not to cross, casual starts looking a lot like something real.

Now the only question is who falls first...

And who ends up falling harder.
