Livvy knew Derek, in theory. Tall, dark, broody, stuck-up with a permanent scowl. Maybe she didn't know as much as a roommate should have, but she wasn't particularly inclined to either. She much rather preferred Laura - his sister. Besides, she had a good thing going with college, returning to Laura and trying to make her see she was a viable romantic prospect, while Derek ignored her existence and vice-versa.

It was calm, and cozy and there was something about living with werewolves that didn't attract the monsters usually behind demigods. They didn't ask too many questions about her life as a demigod before she met them, and she didn't ask them about their prior life in Beacon Hills. It all worked out. Until Laura goes back to the town she swore she would never go back to, and Derek follows a few days later and neither return.

Livvy doesn't want to leave her happy place, doesn't want to deal with rogue werewolves or monsters behind her again, not after all she has gone through. But when Derek texts back grimly, she finds herself booking a flight to Beacon Hills anyway, unaware of what she might find and how her life might change.
