In ice hockey, a team is considered to be on a power play when at least one opposing player is serving a penalty, and the team has a numerical advantage on the ice.

Laila Roes grew up with hockey. It's in her blood and her bones. But her love for hockey wasn't strong enough to overcome the career-ending knee injury she faced in her junior year of high school. With new dreams of becoming an athletic trainer, leading her to Boston University, she finds herself missing the sport that shaped her life. Laila becomes a lead organizer of the city's only nonprofit children's hockey club. She dedicates all her free time to teaching the youth of Boston about her favorite sport. When the program loses its only volunteer winger coach, the head coach of the Boston University boys' hockey team makes her an offer. He'll give her his best right wing if she can help mould him into the athlete he needs to be.

Boone Murphy is only known for two things: his constant fights on the ice and being the best right wing Boston University has ever seen. When childhood professional hockey dreams are getting closer to becoming reality, his reputation finally starts to cause the problems he was warned about. The Boston Bruins want him, but only if his behavior on the ice can be calmed down. Hockey has always been his life, and he won't let anything stop him from chasing his dreams. Even if it means putting up with a large number of children and a certain girl he can't figure out.
