In the future, a company had made synthetic companions, otherwise known as Companion Bots. They are advanced and indistinguishable to humans. One man, Niall Hewitt, had worked tirelessly for years before realizing he never had anyone. He decided to buy a Companion Bot, costing half of his life savings, Niall customized it and named him Daniel. Niall, at first, saw Daniel as nothing but an expensive AI tool something to just make coming home less lonely. A year goes by, and Niall starts seeing Daniel beyond that, he becomes in love with Daniel, and Niall even sees him as his lover. Daniel is programmed to "love" someone but after Niall starts getting distracted or starts talking to someone other than him, Daniel gets jealous, enraged, and possessive, a glitch or something more?
