He was her perfect escape. A presence built entirely out of digital timestamps, sharp wit, and blinking bubbles. He became the keeper of her deepest thoughts before she had the sense to protect them.

But digital intimacy is a cheap hiding place. Distance allows the imagination to construct something far too flawless, softening every sharp edge until a person becomes a curated story. We sketch a soul out of their stray words and shadows, filling the vast gaps with our own desperate needs.

But every story eventually demands an ending.

The screen must go dark, and the boundary separating a protective fantasy from the cold weight of reality is bound to fracture. The question isn't whether they can find each other, but whether the fragile illusion they created can survive the heavy, unyielding truth of a physical world.
