"we are the left behind/ the dry paint on the pallete/ the voice in the wind/ we cry for love/ get a slap on the wrist/ we try to stand/ get pushed to our knees/ told to be quiet/ and to wear long sleeves/ will you remember the left behind/ when we are no more than a rustle of leaves?/ oh we left behind/ is there a place we can be seen?" It is my hope, dear reader, that in the pages of this book you find as much comfort as I found while writing these poems, they are each one of them, delicate pieces of my heart that I could not keep contained in my chest. I see this book as a much needed opportunity for us to reflect, be challenged and grow. Wherever you go. Wherever you are. I see you. It is my hope, from the bottom of my heart, that together we can heal. If you ever need help or someone to talk to don't hesitate to reach out.
