Jane has lived with the Fisher family practically her whole life. After her mother died, Susannah Fisher refused to leave her best friend's daughter behind and begged Adam to become Jane's legal guardian.

Growing up with Conrad and Jeremiah, Jane has always known they aren't her real brothers. She has also always known that she could never tell anyone that she's been in love with Conrad for years. She is too afraid of losing her place in the Fisher family. After all, she isn't really one of them. She is a Winslow, just like her mother was.

Besides, Belly has loved Conrad for as long as anyone can remember, and Jane could never stand in her way.
