Through the Dark Mirror-Twisted Wonderland

I usually picture a normal school day as... well, normal. Not a magical duel between a boy and a small, talking creature that spits blue fire.

But lately, my life has taken a few sharp turns, so I can't tell if this is some kind of karmic payback or something else entirely.

A searing fireball whistles past my head. I duck on instinct-more luck than skill-and feel the heat graze my hair.

I really hope Crowley didn't expect me to actually control this thing.

Me? A beast master? That's absurd.

...Then again, in a world like this-one built on magic and the impossible-maybe it isn't so absurd after all.
