A Marriage of Mourning

Born in Lys, Vaenora grows up surrounded by beauty and freedom, never imagining her future lies across the sea.

In Westeros, the Great Spring Sickness has devastated House Targaryen, leaving Prince Valarr Targaryen the reluctant heir to the Iron Throne. Widowed and grieving, he has no wish to remarry, but the realm demands an heir.

Chosen for her Valyrian blood and beauty, Vaenora is brought to Westeros and thrust into a marriage built on duty rather than affection. Admired by the court yet stripped of her freedom, she struggles to find her place beside a husband haunted by loss.

As intrigue spreads through the royal court, Vaenora finds an unexpected connection that offers comfort-and the possibility of something more. But in a kingdom ruled by duty, forbidden feelings come at a dangerous cost.

Caught between obligation and her own desires, Vaenora must decide what she is willing to sacrifice for freedom, love, and her future. Set during a fragile Targaryen reign, a tale of courtly intrigue, forbidden desire, and difficult choices unfolds within the Red Keep.
