The New Human

In 1980s New York, actress Sheri Brown moves through fame with her white ragdoll cat, Sage, always by her side-until a quiet presence in the shadows begins to follow them.

When Sage vanishes and strange systems begin to shift beneath the city, nothing behaves as it should: people misplace time, buildings forget their own structure, and a doctor who studies animals begins to redefine what "care" really means.

As Sheri's world fractures into overlapping corridors of control and hidden design, strangers are pulled into the same unfolding pattern-each carrying fragments of a truth no one can fully hold. A jealous past, a suspicious assistant, a watching neighbour, and a cat who sees more than she should all converge around a system that refuses to stay contained.

But when the rules of reality begin to align in the wrong places, survival stops being about escape-and becomes about what remains when the system finally decides what it wants to keep.
