The Void I Carry

Joren Matthys has spent his life crossing worlds he never chose to inhabit. From the sun-soaked expanses of Karava to the desert winds of Amarin, from the grey coasts of Northveil to the universities that promised him belonging, he has learned that home is not a place you find. It is something you construct, alone, in the spaces between.

When a gift (or curse) awakens within him the ability to traverse parallel universes, to step into versions of himself living different lives, Joren believes he has finally found what he was searching for. In one world, he will be whole. In another, he will know love. In a third, he will belong.

But with each world he enters, something darker follows. The multiverse itself is dying. Realities collapse into emptiness. And Joren begins to understand a terrible truth: the void he has carried within him since childhood is not something the next world will heal. It is something he brings with him. Something that consumes.

The Void I Carry is the story of a man who travels infinite worlds searching for connection, only to discover that some voids cannot be filled, no matter how many universes you cross, no matter how many versions of yourself you become.

A meditation on loneliness, identity, and the question that haunts us all: If I have visited every possible life and still found myself alone, what does that mean about who I am?
