The Orchard of Men

The trees were supposed to be dead.

Johnny Calhoun comes to Odessa searching for his missing brother, Eli, whose trail ends at the abandoned Bellweather orchard - a rotting stretch of dust and dead trees outside town.

But Johnny smells peaches beyond the gate.

The locals avoid the orchard. The sheriff knows better than to go there after sundown. And the deeper Johnny searches, the more the place seems to notice him.

Something old waits beneath the roots. Something that calls to lonely men in voices they trust. Something that feeds on grief, desire, and the terrible hope of seeing the lost again.

Johnny came to find his brother.

But the orchard has already found him.

And the harvest is coming.
