When Avery Grambs, her sister Libby, her best friend Max, Lyra Kane, and the four hawthorne brothers walk into Avery's room, they don't expect anything to come out of playing the scream game...until things go wrong in the second round.

In the second round, the eight are joined by Alissa Ortega, Sky and Zaara Hawthorne, Savannah and Gigi Grayson, Rohan, and Avery's bodyguard, Oren. Split off into teams, they play the game like normal, until the real Ghost Face calls Avery's phone, introducing a new game of his own...
