Newt arrives in the Glade with no memory of who he is, like every other Greenie, thrown into a brutal enclosed world ruled by shifting stone walls, strict survival roles, and the constant threat of the Maze. Under Alby's leadership, with Minho running the Runners and the Gladers trying to maintain a fragile system of order, Newt quickly adapts and becomes one of the most trusted voices in the Glade.

Everything begins to change when a new Greenie, Thomas, arrives-and the Maze itself starts to shift in ways it never has before. Patterns break, dangers increase, and the Glade's sense of control begins to collapse. As Thomas becomes more involved in the Maze's mysteries, Newt finds himself pulled into events that threaten to break everything they've built.

After a Griever encounter and exposure to a blue serum, Newt begins to deteriorate mentally and physically. What was once stability turns into unpredictability-violent outbursts, confusion, fragmented memory, and moments where he is no longer fully himself. Now Thomas and Minho are forced to contain and protect him, even as he becomes both victim and danger inside the Glade.

As the truth behind the Maze edges closer, survival stops being just about escaping the walls-and becomes about holding onto each other before everything, including Newt's mind, is lost inside the experiment.
