The one who got away

I woke up in my bedroom, my heart pounding from a nightmare that felt far too real.

It wasn't just any nightmare. It was filled with monsters from old internet stories-creatures and killers most people dismissed as fiction. But somehow, deep down, I couldn't shake the feeling that what I had seen wasn't entirely a dream.

The faces, the forest, the mansion, the warnings-they all lingered in my mind long after I opened my eyes.

Now I find myself questioning everything.

Was the nightmare simply my imagination?

Or was it a warning?

The disappearances in this town, the missing children posters, the strange feeling that someone is always watching from the woods-it all seems connected somehow.

If those creatures are real, then sooner or later I'm going to face them.

The question isn't if.

It's when.

And when that day comes, I'll have to figure out how to survive.

I don't know what my fate will be. I don't know who I can trust. For all I know, the people trying to help me could be just as dangerous as the monsters hunting me.

But one thing is certain:

I'm not planning to become another missing person poster.

Whatever is hiding in the darkness, whatever is taking people from this town, I'm going to uncover the truth.

And if I survive...

I'll be the one left to tell the tale.
