Seven Bones

Seven men. Seven bones. One woman on the throne who takes them in the order the bones decide, while her husband watches from the dark at the back of the room.
The rite buys back the season. She has performed it before. She will perform it again. And every man who steps onto her platform tonight believes, for a little while, that the power is his - until she shows him otherwise.
A blindfolded goddess, a crowd that came to watch, and the one set of eyes she actually performs for. Persephone holds the whole room in her hand and lets it think it holds her.
