First, I want to be very clear: I do not wish to steal from Rebecca Yarros's work in any way. The world of the Empyrean, its characters, and its magic belong entirely to her. I am merely a fan who fell in love with these books and found myself inspired.
This is a spin-off - a story that takes place in my own imagination, using the world Rebecca built as a foundation. It happens way before Violet ever steps foot onto the Parapet. Long before the Rebellion. Long before anyone knew the name Sorrengail.
Aranya and her family are my own creation. Any similarities to canon characters are unintentional.
Think of this as a love letter to the Empyrean series - written by a fan, for fans, with the deepest respect for the original work.

Riorson's Daughter is a Fourth Wing fanfic. The Story is based around Kaia Riorson. 17 years old, Kaia is the youngest rider to enter the Quadrant. but not by choice. It was not her choice to cross the Parapet so young, and let alone with her condition; Hypoglycaemia. a condtion which can lead to serious blood sugar drops. and not only that but Xaden haas lied to everyone. About Kaia. They don't even know she exists until she steps off the Parapet... Kaia's story was inspired by many things, the urge to want to write, to want to be a part of the world Rebecca Yarros created and a way to show myself that I can do something great. Kaia has the same condition that I do, and luckily I've never had to go through the things that Kaia has with Hypoglycaemia, but lots of it is based off personal experience.
