Naruto, that poor boy, so heavily burdened and lonely and yet so brave. That was all Kakashi could think as he formed handsigns, careful not to waste his last draw of breath. He knew it was going to be risky, that it would take the entirety of everything he had left to send the sweet, scarred boy somewhere safe, but, oblivious as he was, he swapped three handsigns, casting a different jutsu than he intended, sending the boy back in time, using his last words to tell Naruto how proud he is of the boy as the world descends into a swirling mass of chaos as Madara collapses under the weight of trapping the world in his infinite tsukuyomi, underestimating the number of survivors it would ensnare.
