Nineteen years old, Italian‑American by blood, raised in the rolling hills of Tennessee - Josephine Morino was fiery, bold, and unyielding. When the Great War dragged on, she stepped onto battlefields where no woman had fought before, becoming known across the lines as the world's very first superhero - The Riftwalker. Peace did not bring true freedom. The quiet, restricted life that followed was never her choice. Kept her on a leash: used her when it suited them, limited where she could go, what she could do, and never let her act fully for herself. Time slipped out of her grasp; what felt like weeks to her had been far longer in the world outside. When she finally stepped back into daylight, she had no idea how much had changed - until she turned a corner and came face‑to‑face with an admirer, a lover, her past. "Josephine...?" he breathed, like meeting a legend.
