What if the despair disease actually caused Nagito to act as paradoxical as possible? Instead of simply lying, he mixed acting and speaking however he truly wanted with easy and difficult lies, causing no one to know what was the truth and what wasn't.
Unfortunately--or not--for Hajime, Nagito's truthful side wanted to be as close to him as possible at every moment, awake or asleep. Though, the lies continued to confuse Hajime's judgement; was his attachment a lie, too?
Despite the confusion, Hajime knows that Nagito had no say in the circumstances, so he deals with it. Although, one day, it goes too far...but maybe it turns into the alibi that both needed to survive.
