The Obsession

I was walking toward my office, tired after the whole day.

"Stop following me," I said, loud and clear.

He didn't.
Instead, he leaned in-one hand on the wall near my head, the other resting lightly on my hip, pinning me there without fully trapping me.
"Stop making it so easy to find you."

My breath hitched for a second. I pushed him back and stepped away.

"You're a psycho."

That should've ended it.

But it didn't.

He caught my wrist before I could leave, pulling me back against his chest in one swift motion.

His voice dropped near my ear.
"No... it's called obsession."

As a detective, solving cases was my job.

Most mysteries eventually found their answers. Some took longer than others, but the truth always had a way of revealing itself.

Until this one.

What began as another investigation soon became something I couldn't walk away from. The deeper I dug, the more questions I found, and the more impossible it became to stop searching.

Some cases stay with you.

This one became an obsession.
