The Spectacular Spider-Man continues after season 2. Peter Parker is at his lowest point. Consumed by guilt after Norman Osborn's apparent death, the hero grapples with the devastating personal fallout: he breaks up with Liz Allan and watches helplessly as Gwen Stacy emotionally sacrifices herself to prevent the manipulative and broken Harry Osborn from relapsing into substance abuse. Peter is alone, isolated, and questioning his moral code.

Meanwhile, New York's criminal underworld descends into chaos. Hammerhead desperately tries to fill the power vacuum left by Norman, but is quickly outmaneuvered. This chaos attracts the attention of the city's true criminal mastermind: Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin. Tired of the ineffectiveness of previous ''Big Men'', Fisk begins to consolidate his empire through brutal force and impeccable strategy, sending enforcers to pacify the streets and announce his rise.
