Everyone thinks Elizabeth "Liz" Taylor has the perfect life, but no one sees the arguments at home, the pressure from her parents, or the dark secrets hidden behind her relationship with her boyfriend, Charles. After a chance encounter with Johnny Cade, Liz finds herself drawn to the quiet Greaser with the gentle heart. As late-night talks turn into something more, the two quickly fall for each other in ways neither of them expected.

But after Liz finally breaks things off with Charles, everything begins to fall apart. With rumors spreading and painful truths about her past coming to light, the Greasers want nothing to do with a Soc girl hanging around Johnny. Yet when Liz loses the life she once knew, the gang slowly realizes she's not who they thought she was and reluctantly gives her a chance.
