Ellery has been alone for four years, forced to face hardships that no one should ever have to endure. At just eighteen years old, he's balancing a dead-end job that barely puts food on the table while trying to keep his grades up during his final year of high school. One evening, he has to stay after school to retake a test he didn't score well on. When he finishes, the computer displays his final grade, and for the first time in a while, he's genuinely pleased. As he's about to show his teacher the results and head home, things take an unexpected turn. His teacher has other plans. Locked inside the classroom, cornered and questioned about his parents and a past he thought he'd left behind, Ellery quickly realizes that this is no ordinary conversation. Ellery doesn't know much about what his parents done and occupation as he was very young when they passed, but he still remembers the neglect and abuse he's went through with them. Confused and scared by the man he thought was just an ordinary grumpy teacher and getting asked questions he doesn't have excat answers to, Ellery ends up in a sticky situation... Soon he meets Wade Callery. The cruel man who's about to turn his life upside down. Buckle up readers, you're in for a bumpy, twisted, ride. Because Ellery's world is about to become a whole lot messier.
