Maybe Luke had mistaken constancy for permanence. Mick had been there for so long that being with him felt as natural as a Phi to his Nong.

On screen, they belonged exclusively to each other. A pair people adored, crafted carefully for television, bound by contracts and one unspoken rule: never let fiction become real.

But feelings had a way of slipping through locked doors.

One day, Mick confessed.

And Luke never got the chance to answer properly. One, because he had never thought Mick, his Nong, will fall for him. And two, Mick left the industry before they could untangle what had been said.

After that, everything came apart quietly.

There was no more them.

No more LukeMick.

Only Luke who still couldn't understand why he was still holding onto his Nong's memories.
