Krillin secretly working at a small grocery store to support himself after moving out following his divorce from Android 18. To hide his body, he wears oversized sweatshirts and stays mostly at home in his small apartment or works behind the register in the grocery store situated outside the city. He rarely attends Bulma's annual get-together to catch up with friends, showing up only occasionally just to avoid concern. His facade has been effective so far; they do not know where he works or how deeply depressed he is, and he avoids encounters by working in a quiet store away from the city. One day, he notices Goku walking into the store, looking as powerful and healthy as ever, with his unmistakable strong ki. Krillin has always been aware of how much Goku has surpassed him in strength-these days, they are light years apart.
