Lyv, pion du royaume de l'Aube, participe à cet évènement. Si elle parvient à traverser le royaume du Crépuscule et à entrer la première dans la salle du trône, elle deviendra Reine.
Mais le roi du Crépuscule ne compte pas laisser faire le hasard. Il missionne une Tour, Soren, pour repérer parmi les participantes celle qui fera la meilleure Reine. Lyv attire rapidement son attention grâce à son intelligence et son courage.
Le problème c'est que Lyv ne compte pas partager le pouvoir. Or, le devoir d'une Tour est avant tout de protéger son Roi.
