An Unwise Attachment

Jane Sinclair runs the family bookshop, lives above it in contented independence, and has spent the past year building a careful conviction: that the newly arrived village doctor - starchy and correct with everyone else - is entirely different with her, and that the difference means something.
Dr. Thomas Langley likes Jane enormously. He simply hasn't worked out yet what enormously actually means. She's warm, outgoing, and likes to argue - nothing at all like the composed, correct sort of woman he's always assumed he was meant to end up with. So when a beautiful, well-connected socialite arrives in the village for the summer, looking like everything he supposedly wants, Thomas is intrigued -- and Jane begins to think she may have misjudged her handsome village doctor.
