My name is Nefertari Meritmut, which means "The Most Beautiful of Them All, Beloved of Mut." I lived more than three thousand years ago, during Egypt's Nineteenth Dynasty, yet my name has not disappeared into the sands of time. My face still looks out from painted temple walls. My image remains inside a magnificent tomb in the Valley of the Queens. Beside the great pharaoh Ramesses II, I helped represent the strength, wisdom, faith, and beauty of ancient Egypt.
I was not remembered only because I wore a crown. I was remembered because I used my position to support my people, honor the gods, strengthen Egypt's relationships with other nations, and stand beside one of the most powerful pharaohs in history.
This is the story of my life.
