Daisy Carter has spent her whole life trapped in a small country town with an abusive family that doesn't believe in the internet or the outside world. While her sister Scarlett always gets the attention, Daisy dreams of escaping and becoming somebody. When Daisy finally runs away, Scarlett follows her-but shortly after arriving in the city, Scarlett disappears without a trace. The police don't seem to care, and nobody is looking for her. Believing that fame is the only way to make people listen, Daisy sets out to become an internet star while secretly searching for clues about her sister's disappearance. But as her fame grows, so does the danger. Someone knows what happened to Scarlett-and they'll do anything to stop Daisy from finding out the truth. Will Daisy become famous enough to save her sister, or will she become the next girl to disappear?

Moving across the country to the apartment directly across the hall from your high school best friend is either a stroke of genius or a statistical disaster. For Elizabeth Stokes and Jackson Tyler, who have spent a decade perfecting the art of "just friends," the proximity should be easy, familiar, and completely safe. But as their old rhythms collide with the adults they've become, the logic they've used to protect their friendship starts to fail, proving that love is the only variable you can't account for.
