HOW TO BE LOVED

I don't want a man who says, "Love you," only after we've fought.
I want someone who whispers, "I love you," as though those three words are the only thing keeping his heart beating.

I don't want to hear love you.
My soul longs for the weight of "I love you."

I don't want a routine "goodnight" every evening.
I want a forehead kiss, a warm hug, a little argument, and a promise that we'll always find our way back to each other.

I want him to be mature, calm, and composed,
so I can be chaotic, childish, and beautifully messy without fear.

I want him to be the silence,
so he can hear every word hidden in my loudness.

I want him to keep staring at me,
so I never stop finding reasons to look beautiful for him.

And when my journey ends,
I want to leave this world with my head resting on his chest,
listening to his heartbeat one last time,
hearing one final "I love you,"
before carrying that love into the next lifetime. 🌷
