The Things We Hide

"You don't understand, Felix, I ..." The words died in Hyunjin's throat as he tried to explain himself. His heart beat uncontrollably as he stared at the beautiful blond boy in front of him. Felix's eyes shone in the sunlight, the tears running down his cheeks reflecting light from the rays.

God, Hyunjin thought, he even looks so beautiful crying.

"What can't I understand, Hyunjin?" Felix sniffled. "Does none of this matter to you? Do I not matter to you? What are you hiding!?" he screamed, weak punches thrown to Hyunjin's chest as the older caught his arms, his face as cold as a stone.

I can't tell you how much I'm in love with you, Hyunjin thought. I can't tell you that I'd choose you over everything if I thought I could.

Felix never expected coming back to Korea to be so complicated. He changed after moving to Australia for a few years. He is not the quiet, shy boy anymore. He's louder, more reckless, and freegoing, often recognized as the sunshine child everyone adores. But coming home means seeing his childhood friends again, which includes Hyunjin.
