Description: A few years ago a new Critter joined the Critters, Catnap. However, he is not in a good mood, as everyone had hoped. Dogday, the leader of the gang, has set himself the big goal of "becoming friends with Catnap". However, this mission keeps him quite busy, as Catnap continues to be stubborn and tries to avoid everyone... Will Dogday complete his mission successfully or not? Will Catnap finally open up to the other Critters? And maybe there is more behind his behavior than some might think? Read the book to answer these and many more questions! --------- There is no schedule for updates, but I still plan to finish this fic. **DISCLAIMER. Does not follow traditional lore or theories that make the involved characters "off-putting" for the situation. They're all of proper maturity for some good ol' hand holding, hugs, and kisses. Certain variables are subject to change. Don't be weird.** It was plain to see. Catnap knew that he didn't belong in this ragtag happy bunch of friends they call the "Smiling Critters." Though he considers them all great friends, most of them still seem to think of him as too "scary and creepy." His words are often too intricate and confusing for anyone to really understand what he's trying to say. His face is mostly too "smiley" and freaks everyone out whenever they catch him in their sight. But above all else, he's too hard to approach. No one really knows what he's thinking. He's too mysterious. They don't know the first thing about him and his true intentions. ...But he was never trying to be part of any of those things. He would love to call them all his friends if they would let him. And yet, none of them are willing to try. Except for one. There only existed one other of the group he could reliably call his "friend." One quiet night, Catnap sits beside his best companion, Dogday. The two talk for a while until the feline says "I hope that one day, I'll be like the rest of you." Not expecting much out of the other through this one moment of weakness, Catnap sits in silence. He feels as though he shouldn't have said anything, until... "Why don't I help you?" The dog suggests. With his attention suddenly grabbed, he looks to the canine. Could his dream really come true that easily?

in this story all the smiling critters live another life, where catnap tries to undo the damages he's caused. dog day doesn't know if he could forgive his old friend, also in this story not all the smiling critters hat catnap, the only ones that do like him is bubba and bobby.
