Gawin has one year left and a list of fifteen things he never got to do. Joss has a name he never asked for and people who want him dead. They meet on a dark street at midnight - one bleeding, one lost - and somehow end up on the same road.

Neither of them was looking for this. Neither of them planned it. But somewhere between a vet clinic and a train with no destination, between a beach with clear water and a mountain with too many stars, between a list that was never supposed to include another person and a man who couldn't bring himself to leave - something happened that neither of them had a word for yet.
